Resolvers

Cygnus utilizes various modes to address slashing incidents by incorporating resolvers. Resolvers are contracts or entities that have the authority to either approve or veto slashing incidents received from networks, and they can be shared across multiple networks. The selection of resolvers is based on agreements proposed by networks and accepted by vaults that provide collateral to support operators. A vault may use a combination of resolvers or none at all to cover their collateral— . For instance, 10% without any resolver, 40% with Resolver A, and 50% with Resolver B. These resolvers might be committees that focus on specific subsets of networks. Additionally, decentralized dispute resolution frameworks also can serve as resolvers. A quorum of resolvers might also be required to approve or reject a slashing incident, enhancing security within the Cygnus protocol economy.
